چکیده

Clones including tRNA genes from tomato {Lycopersicon esculentum) chloroplast DNA have been obtained. Here we report the nucleotide sequence of tmH\ trnD-^ and tmL\ Sequences were determined by the dideoxy method (1). In higher plant chloroplast genomes, tmY and trnD are clustered together with trnE in the large single copy (LSQ region (2). The sequence of trnY reveals 100% identity with its counterparts in pea (3), spinach (4) and tobacco (5), and it is highly similar with trnY of rice (6), wheat (7), the beechdrop Epiphagus virginiana (8), and the liverwort Marchantia polymorpha (9). Aside from tobacco (5), tomato trnD is identical to the corresponding genes in the monocots rice and wheat (6, 10), while it slightly differs from the dicots spinach (11), pea (12) and Epiphagus (8), and the liverwort Marchantia (9). The trnL gene is located in the small single copy (SSC) region between rpl32 and ORF313. It has 100% homology to trnL of tobacco and also high similarity to its counterparts in rice (6), Epiphagus (13), liverwort (9) and the corresponding gene product from spinach (14). ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Identified Hybrid tRNA Structure Genes in Archaeal Genome

Background: In Archaea, previous studies have revealed the presence of multiple intron-containing tRNAs and split tRNAs. The full unexpurgated analysis of archaeal tRNA genes remains a challenging task in the field of bioinformatics, because of the presence of various types of hidden tRNA genes in archaea. Here, we suggested a computational method that searched for widely separ...

Nucleotide sequence of a 1.1 kb fragment of the pea chloroplast genome containing three tRNA genes, one of which is located within an open reading frame of 91 codons.

The nucleotide sequence of a 1082 bp fragment from the pea (Pisum sativum) chloroplast genome is presented. This fragment contains genes for tRNAGlu, tRNATyr and tRNAAsp as well as an open reading frame (ORF) of 91 codons on one strand and two ORFs of 52 and 59 codons on the complementary strand. The tRNAAsp gene is located entirely within the ORF of 91 codons. The first 366 bp of the fragment ...

Comparative bioinformatics analysis of a wild diploid Gossypium with two cultivated allotetraploid species

Background: Gossypium thurberi is a wild diploid species that has been used to improve cultivated allotetraploid cotton. G. thurberi belongs to D genome, which is an important wild bio-source for the cotton breeding and genetic research. To a certain degree, chloroplast DNA sequence information are a versatile tool for species identification and phylogenetic implications in plants. Different ch...

Complete Nucleotide Sequence of the Chloroplast Genome from a Leptosporangiate Fer, Adiantum capillus-veneris L

We determined the complete nucleotide sequence of the chloroplast genome of the leptosporangiate fern, Adiantum capillus-veneris L. (Pteridaceae). The circular genome is 150,568 bp, with a large single-copy region (LSC) of 82,282 bp, a small-single copy region (SSC) of 21,392 bp and inverted repeats (IR) of 23,447 bp each. We compared the sequence to other published chloroplast genomes to infer...

New DNA markers for discrimination between closely-related species and for the reconstruction of historical events; an example using liverworts.

A survey of fully-sequenced chloroplast genomes revealed that in land plants there are six tRNA genes that have introns. Moreover, the length of a particular tRNA gene intron remains relatively stable across species. However, in algae, the presence of chloroplast tRNA genes containing introns is exceptional. A survey of mitochondrial plant genomes revealed intron-containing tRNA genes are rathe...
